ANAPROF participation in CONCACAF : ウィキペディア英語版 | Panamanian football clubs in CONCACAF competitions
An outline of the participation of Panamanian football teams in the different regional tournaments offered by the CONCACAF. Since 1988, Panama has been sending at least one team to the competitions, the first appearance by a Panamanian team was in 1988 CONCACAF Champions' Cup when Plaza Amador played in the first round. This was prior to the creation of the ANAPROF (Panama's top football league) in 1988. From 1989 ANAPROF has been sending two teams to participate in the different regional tournaments, usually the top and runner-up teams of the previous year of competition. Except in the 1995 and 1996 championship of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup because there was a schism in Panamanian football as both the ANAPROF and LINFUNA existed as separate leagues. LINFUNA was recognized by FIFA, so its champions and runner-ups were sent to the CONCACAF Champions' Cup instead of ANAPROF. The two leagues merged in 1997 and ANAPROF kept sending teams to represent Panama from there after. The best runs for a Panamanian team in these competitions was when in 2002 when Árabe Unido finished runner-up in that year's competition of Copa Interclubes UNCAF. ==1988==
